Financial Rebellion

Building a financial education brand from newsletter to full curriculum

Financial Rebellion went from a single newsletter to a full content engine with a podcast, a twelve-module course, interactive tools and a repeatable credit union sponsorship offer.

The situation

Financial Rebellion had an audience and a point of view, and not much connecting them. The newsletter went out. The podcast existed. Neither one led anywhere in particular, and there was no way for a sponsor to buy into the whole thing.

What we built

We treated the channels as one product rather than four.

The newsletter became the spine: a consistent weekly format with a design system behind it, so an issue could be co-branded for a partner without a redesign every time. The podcast fed it, and it fed the podcast.

Underneath that we built a twelve-module course, “Do Money Differently,” including the video production pipeline and a set of interactive tools that live outside the video. A money personality quiz. An obituary exercise. A calculator that shows what a betting app habit costs against the same money in the market. Tools get shared in a way that a video lesson does not.

Then we packaged the whole thing as something a credit union can sponsor. Co-branded newsletter, podcast reads, course access for members, marketing support and staff training, sold as one annual partnership rather than as media inventory.

Why it works

Most financial education content is written to be correct. This is written to be repeated. The voice is direct, the numbers are specific, and it says the thing most institutions will not say out loud.

That is also what makes it sponsorable. A credit union is not buying impressions. It is buying association with a voice its members already trust.
